Calendar & School Hours

School Drop-Off & Pick-Up

School starts at 8:00 AM and ends at 3:00 PM. Drop-off is between 7:45 AM and 8:00 AM. Students are considered late at 8:05 AM. Parents begin to form a line with their vehicles in our parking lot before 3:00 PM.  You are considered late to pick up your child(ren) if you are not in the pick-up line with your vehicle at 3:15 PM.  For safety, cell phone use in the pick-up line is prohibited. Please call the office if you require early dismissal or if you will be late. Please refer to Parent Handbook for more details.

Student Absences

The school office must be notified by 8:00 AM if your child is going to be absent that day. Please also send a written note, dated and signed by a parent, when your child returns to school. Any absence of two or more days must be accompanied by a physician's note upon the Student´s return.

Emergency School Closings

At times it may be necessary to close the Academy due to inclement weather. The decision to close the Academy is made in consultation with state and town authorities. The decision is made as early as possible. In order to verify that there is a school closing or delay, please note the following:

1. An email and text will be sent to Al-Hamra parents.

2. Watch WBZ Channel 4 or visit wbz.com for school closings or delays.

3. Call the school after 6:00 AM and listen for an announcement.

The Academic Calendar may be adjusted considering the number of snow days.
